How the day runs
This is the one weekend in Sussex wine where nobody has to drive home. Charles Palmer is closest to Rye at ten minutes, sitting on the old Wickham Manor land above Winchelsea. Tillingham is the anchor — it's the only one of the three that feeds you, and the Dutch barn is where the day goes long. Oxney is the largest single-estate organic producer in England and has the widest choice of beds, from shepherd's huts to the barns.
Opening days shift with the season and several of these need booking. Check each estate before you commit to the train — we list what we've confirmed, but vineyards change their minds about Sundays.
